In Newport, Rhode Island, Gilded Age glamour defines many of the city’s event spaces. We embraced this historic opulence in a recent collaboration with the talented teams at Sunday Social Events, Petal by Sabrina, and Yoke Media. Together, we transformed Provence sur Mer, a newly renovated 1850 historic building overlooking Washington Square, into the perfect backdrop for several wedding looks, both inside and out.
A Blank Canvas with a View
Located just a short walk from Newport’s bustling downtown, Provence sur Mer is a hidden gem. With a design that marries modern flair with old-world charm, the space is a perfect blank canvas for any event. The venue accommodates up to 60 guests for a seated dinner and 85 for a cocktail-style reception. Our goal was to showcase its versatility and prove that you don’t need a massive space to make a statement.
Inside, a chic black velvet curtain cleverly conceals the caterer’s entry, a thoughtful detail that allows for seamless service without disrupting the elegant atmosphere. The fully equipped caterer’s kitchen is a dream for any culinary team, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The space holds on to its old-world charm with beautiful wood floors, dark moldings, and a grand player piano that adds a touch of classic sophistication.
Rain or Shine
By staging multiple wedding looks, we wanted to showcase the versatility of Provence sur Mer. After a surprise rainstorm, we had the unique opportunity to demonstrate the venue’s incredible flexibility and showcase our garden-inspired wedding reception indoors and outdoors the next day. Whether your clients are dreaming of a cozy, elegant seated dinner or a lively cocktail party that spills onto the patio, this space can do it all.
The inspiration behind these looks was to evoke a sense of timeless glamour with a modern edge. We wanted the team to feel as though they had stepped into an elevated editorial moment; something that felt both intimate and chic. The venue architecture along with our product selections containing gold accents and clean lines provided a luxurious foundation, while the florals added a sculptural, almost artistic quality with their mix of deep jewel tones and creamy neutrals. Every element, from the geometric chinaware to the subtle glow of the lamps, was chosen to create an atmosphere that felt curated yet effortless, where sophistication met a hint of drama. The location and the products were a match made in heaven!

Perfect for warmer months, this charming outdoor area comfortably accommodates over 75 guests, making it an ideal spot for a lively cocktail hour or an intimate ceremony. With a beautiful view and full handicap accessibility, it’s a truly welcoming space.
For a romantic look on the patio, the team at Sunday Social Events developed an intimate tablescape and cocktail reception, highlighting how the space can be used for a private dinner or an intimate elopement. This look featured a mix of rich textures and soft colors that beautifully complemented the natural surroundings, using many of the same elements from our indoor garden party.
