Clients that Inspire: Designing with DFW Event Design

In our latest design collaboration for our Clients that Inspire series, we teamed up with the creative forces behind PA-based DFW Event Design to craft two looks to inspire warm-weather soirees. The setting for our styled shoot is the historic Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm. Originally built in the 1740s, Barley Sheaf Farm has a rich history and undeniable charm, having been home to notable inhabitants, like Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright George S. Kaufman, before converting into a bed-and-breakfast, restaurant, and unique event space. With the recently-expanded Barn as our backdrop, we teamed up on a cold, winter day to bring the warm feeling of summer to life.

Citrusy tones, neutral elements, and smokey accents were woven throughout the coordinating tables for a grounded take on a bold, summery vibe. Known for their knack for designing outside-the-box, the DFW team styled the looks with whimsical floral centerpieces that featured bright blooms, fresh fruit, and contrasting blue accents. Whether you’ve got your heart set on a pop of print or prefer neutrals with personality, these two designs are guaranteed to inspire a variety of spring and summer settings.

We caught up with DFW designer Marlee Wilson to learn more about the inspiration behind the shoot, her favorite products, and what trends are on the horizon.  Check it out!

Could you describe the two looks you designed and the inspiration behind them?
For the looks in our design collaboration, we went bright and colorful. We are a team full of beach-goers so we have been craving spring and summer. We just got back from our annual trip to Las Vegas Market, and we wanted to incorporate some of the bright colors we saw while we were there.

Are there any colors, styles, patterns, or textures that you or your clients have been gravitating toward lately? Have you noticed a shift in trends?
We have really been gravitating towards the non-traditional by utilizing deeper and bolder colors mixed with white backdrops. Over the past year we have been trying to source the brightest and most exciting blooms.

Do you have a favorite Party Rental Ltd. product or linen?
Honestly, our new favorite are the Alexander White Oak Chairs that we had the pleasure of using for this shoot. We have seen chairs like these everywhere for home interiors and were stoked to see them as part of the Party Rental Ltd. collection.

What do you like about working with us?
We love working with your staff! We had such a great time while shooting and getting ready for the shoot. They promoted a collaborative design process and were hands and offered helpful suggestions that worked with the overall design.
