Our latest design collaboration in our Clients that Inspire series was close to home for us. We teamed up with New Jersey-based event producer and floral designer Adam Leffel at the beautiful Jersey City restaurant and event space, Maritime Parc. The result was just what you’d expect from a partnership between three Jersey-based teams: designs that were bold, creative, and totally unforgettable.
After leaving a career in finance, Adam turned weekly bouquets for his wife into a new career in the floral industry, forming Adam Leffel Productions 16 years ago. Based in New Jersey (and once our HQ neighbors), Adam is known for his custom floral and production work — his expertise shining through both of the looks created just for our design collaboration.
Clean, Scandinavian-inspired decor and a fabulous view of the iconic New York City skyline make Maritime Parc the perfect backdrop for weddings, fundraisers, corporate events, and our latest design collaboration alike. Maritime Parc is known for going above and beyond, using their ever-evolving menu and creative ways of adapting a clients’ vision in their space, making them the perfect partners for this shoot.
During our collaboration, we quickly learned one thing – expect the unexpected. What first appeared to be a glamorous, blush-toned wedding design was boldly (and literally) turned on its head. Sleek stripes were brought to life with mismatched settings and unlikely decor. Adam brought his signature, innovative stye to our collab, and the final looks are guaranteed to inspire.
Could you describe the two looks you designed and the inspiration behind them?
For the round table look – I was inspired to ‘turn things upside down’ and not go with a traditional floral design – I always look to make a statement, and felt that this creation brought together what most clients want – dense lush floral and a unique over the top style to make it stand out. As we chose the charger, dinner plate and glassware, the look was completed seamlessly to flow with the tones of the linen which had iridescent qualities allowing it to be somewhat chameleon like depending on the lighting.
For our long table look, once I saw the linen and how stylish the stripes were, being so mod – I chose eclectic props, first in silver and then in black to accentuate the design and tabletop decor and flatware. Paired with the two chair styles and marble plate accents, it allowed the look to ‘dress up’ enough for a wedding, or ‘dress down’ enough for a cutting edge holiday party without breaking the bank.
Are there any colors, styles, patterns, or textures that you or your clients have been gravitating toward lately?
With the abundance of amazing colored and patterned linen choices out there, and the millennial’s tolerance of pushing the limits, more so than generations of the past, the trend has been strong florally for white and cream coloring, and hints of vintage blush over bold coloring. This allows for a timeless elegance that will work with any palette and venue, and only be more impactful with lighting and other tabletop decor elements as we bring our visions to life.
Do you have a favorite Party Rental Ltd. product or linen?
I’ve been loving the Samarah Silver glass charger plate we used for the long table – the texture of the pattern and the added touch of silver makes it a standout for any event and will dress the table with a detail worth the spend.
What do you like about working with us?
There are many reasons I like Party Rental Ltd. over many other rental companies.
